Smart Home vs. Automated Home
When you’re talking about home automation, you’re talking about making things within the home, smart and controllable. There really is no difference between a smart home and automated home. When you’re dealing with home automation, in a way, you’re making your home smart. Devices, objects, appliances and things as such are now being automated. What does that mean? Well, you’re now able to control lights, HVAC systems, doors, windows, shades, and many more devices with apps on your phone. They are ‘smart devices’. They’re able to be controlled via the internet, or other various home automation methods. Almost everything that has electrical can be automated, and if the device isn’t smart itself, you can plug it into a smart port. This port plugs into the wall, and then your device plugs into the port. You can control the ports over the internet, set schedules, and turn it on/off whenever you want. Even outside your home, you’re able to do that.
Overall, making your home a smart home is a great idea. It saves you money, helps with saving energy, and can be a lot of fun to use. You can show off the system to your friends, and show them how you can control everything with your phone or tablet. You can make sure your house is secure from anywhere in the world by checking your alarm system, seeing if doors are closed or open, or checking your cameras. Opportunities are endless when it comes to home automation; it just depends on what you’re looking for!
