Microsoft aims to transform television by partnering with entertainment leaders to offer live and on-demand TV, movies, games, sports, music and more on its Xbox console.
From the press release:
Xbox 360 brings all your entertainment, friends and family together in one place. Now, easily switch from playing your favorite game with a friend out of state or even across the world to watching your favorite TV show with your family members on the same couch, all through Xbox LIVE. Ready to mix things up? Effortlessly switch from games to music to live TV and more, simply by telling your Xbox what you want to experience.
It sounds like quite a venture and may be further evidence that the next generation of consoles are still a long way off. Xbox TV is set to come out this holiday season. Here’s to hoping my Xbox doesn’t red ring by then.
We’ve noticed that lately MHA’s been getting a lot of traffic from our neighbor to the north. This is, of course, much appreciated, so in honor of Mile High Automation’s role as a global provider of home automation systems, the blog is going to have more Canada-related posts.
And it isn’t that much of a stretch since Canada’s been in the news a lot recently with the proposed Keystone XL pipeline project that would link Alberta’s oil and oil-sands projects to Gulf Coast refineries. It’s a contentious subject made even more controversial by 2010’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill, but increased oil-sands development has usually produced a boom of residential and commercial construction in the province, which explains the increase in traffic to our site.
The US hasn’t always had the best relationship with Canada despite our similarities and trade partnerships. This may be the result of Americans’ condescending attitude towards Canada or our obsession with the way they say “about” but who knows? Let’s not waste time talking about who called who a hat or who has better healthcare. Let’s start fresh.
Mile High Automation has recently launched a new international builders program that offers discounts to home builders who buy directly from us. We believe that this is an opportunity to forge long-lasting partnerships and are offering reduced rates as a result. Equipping a new house with an automation system is a great way to increase interest among potential buyers, so call us today to learn more about the program.

The Mile High Automation office will be closed this Monday in celebration of Independence Day. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and we’ll be back to help you with all of your home automation needs on Tuesday the 5th.
MHA has moved it’s quoting, support, and back end software system to a brand new, custom platform designed specifically for MHA.
This system streamlines the services we provide to clients, while saving us time as well. It also adds many new features to increase the quality of the systems we provide by automatically generating information that previously took hours and sometimes days to create.
For example, the new system will calculate exactly how much wire a system requires, how long it will take to prewire, to install, and to program.
I have personally spent the past 3 months developing and programming this system alongside our developers. I am very excited to see it in action and our clients are already seeing the benefits.
In the future I hope to move some of this system online, allowing clients to see their systems, submit change requests, and perform other actions.
