We’ve looked at strange buildings before on the blog, and today we’re going to take a look at the Round Tower, an old English building resorted by the architects at De Matos Ryan. It doesn’t seem like a particularly strange building at first site, just an old tower, until you realize it’s a house and a rather modern one at that.

And the tower isn’t just for decoration; it hosts four bedrooms, and presumably each one offers a stellar view of the surrounding landscape.

Yeah, Halloween’s on a Monday but that doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate a little.
Have a fun and safe Halloween, everyone, and be sure to check out our chipper zombie photos on the Connect page.
Turns out there’s a whole line of accessories for your bag, thank goodness. Here are some of my favorites.

Have you ever sat down at your desk and thought, “I sure wish my bag also had a chair upon which to sit” ?
No? Well…dang. Because there is one. A chair just for bags. That exists. It’s called the BagPed and it costs $200. I suppose if you have to buy a gift for someone who literally has everything (or someone you hate), you might consider getting them a BagPed, but even then it’s hard to imagine a more useless product.

The general consensus seemed to be a that people were disappointed the iPhone 5 turned out to be the iPhone 4S, but that hasn’t stopped Apple from selling one million of them in 24 hours.
Apple says that this is the fastest selling first day for any Apple product, ever, beating the previous record holder, the iPhone 4, which sold 600,000 units on its first day.
Maybe Siri, the iPhone’s new voice-recognition assistant, will prove to be a killer app after all and may find some usage in home control…or a precursor to Skynet.

We’ve been talking about tablets and lot recently and would be remiss not to include the newly released Sabre Pyramid.
iPad has killer apps, Kindle Fire has a killer price, but neither has the Power of the Pyramid.
The Pyramid weighs about 3 pounds without the battery and the highly recommended memory booster. Going without the booster gives you a whole “50 L” of memory with which to…do stuff. Details are sparse about what exactly the Pyramid can do, but who needs details when you have the Power of the Pyramid?
Apple has recently announced that they are seeking a court order to ban the sell of the Pyramid in the United States and Europe despite the fact that it is completely fictional.
Profiling tech and toys that make you scratch your head and go, “Why?”
VUDU Battle: Los Angeles digital movie card
The press release actually does a decent job of making the card seem like a convenience. Walmart isn’t asking people to go to a store to buy a card that they then take back home and use to download a movie. No, no, they’re “transforming a physical purchase into a digital ownership experience”. I think I got whiplash from that spin. I can see the value in a gift card that gave the user credit for any movie on VUDU, but a physical card for a specific download that’s about two dollars cheaper than the actual DVD? Why?

Arnova 7 Tablet
The $100 price tag might seem tempting but unless you literally need a tablet to save your life, I don’t know why anyone would bother with the Arnova 7. Sporting a battery life of “up to hours” the Arnova 7 seems to be living proof of the old adage “cheap for a reason”.

Gunbrella
This product is baffling on so many levels. I’m hoping it’s meant to be an “ironic” novelty item that no one would wear in public, but that seems to defeat the purpose. Do umbrellas need to be cool? Is it ever a good idea to look like you’re armed on your commute? How many times can you point it at someone and go “bang” without (a) the joke wearing thin and (b) getting arrested?

We have been getting a lot of rain here in Colorado and it has fill up our little irrigation ditch behind the office. We decided to name our new lake ’Lake Rapture.’ There was talk running around the office of stocking the new lake and going fishing. So, if you call in and no one is here that means we’re out on an impromptu fishing break!
So welcome to Lake Rapture and MHA has officially “gone fishing!”
