Apple TV vs Roku

Now that Apple has added full 1080p streaming to its set-top box, it’s lost one disadvantage it had when compared to the Roku 2.

If you live in an Apple universe, then it’s no surprise that you should keep the trend going and get Apple TV. You can use all your iTunes Media plus it comes with AirPlay and allows users to stream content from other Apple devices like the new iPad or the iPhone 4S.

The Roku 2 XS (which retails for the same price –$99) includes a motion controller to play games with, an Ethernet port and a USB port for accessing content such as movies or music from a flash drive. It also also comes with a MicroSD memory slot for adding additional storage.

Somewhat ironically, the Roku has Apple TV beat in terms of apps but it Apple decides to make them a priority in the future they could catch up quickly.
